Growing up in the DC area along the C&O canal you learn a thing of two and see some places that are forgotten like the mill. This is the mill that was used to cut the stones for the Smithsonian in Washington DC and the stones for the locks along the C&O canal which was under construction is 1830. A friend was visiting from SF Cali over the 4th and so he is in a few shots. I use to spend allot of time plain air painting in this area along the canal.
There is some great hunting back behind the mill on public land. The mill is a little over a mile from the main country road and once you get back there you have a nice 150-200' cliff to traverse to get down to the canal. Most hunters know very little of the area and setting up on the cliff it's self has proven to be a deadly hunt for unsuspecting game using the narrow tails to get up or down.
