Well its getting to be that time of year again for some of yall to go try your hand at spring bear. I won't be hunting spring bear this year since I couldn't pull a tag here in NM. Here's some pics from last year when i drew the valle vidal.

I saw a cub last week a couple of miles from my house. I think that is the earliest I have ever seen a bear. Looked like a 25 pounder. It will probably show up on FB in a few weeks.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a few bears out and about a week ago when temps were in the 70’s. I’m hoping to do a bait this year but will be dependent on snow melt for access to where I want to put it.

Going out in Alberta opening day if I can, have already seen some bears out and about. Gonna try a WMU right beside Banff Natl Park, even if I end up not getting a bear hunting in that scenery is gonna be a treat.

Saw a huge boar 2 years ago - closest i got was 700 and i elected not to try the shot and get to 400 and he was gone.

Having not had a spring bear tag for 2 years I'm calling '24 the Redemption hunt, having seen 3 and taking no shots on my previous hunt. More so I'm guiding/mentoring a 48yr old friend who is a newborn hunter. This part I'm most excited about as I can pass my skills and knowledge along but also hoping to gain a new hunting partner that is equally as passionate about the experience that I am.
