See that green bush with the dead sticks on the left side of the photo?

Walked down the hill past the first shed and look what was behind that bush....

doesn't happen very often. first one came in, stood there. not for long. second one came in looking for the first one. it stood there even less time.

crappy picture, but it was raining outside. photo from inside the pole barn.

Pre-season scouting

It was hot and dry, deer were scarce but found a few. This guy was photogenic.

Nice photo with dad Lawnboy. We were camped at Lizard Lakes some years back and your dad packed us in a great supper of steaks and corn on the cob....roasted over the fire in the dark with talk of grizzly bears and cutthroats. It was a good time.

2011 started out good for me. My first deer with my flintlock, January 21. Lost the pics when I upgraded my phone over the summer.

Fall of 2011 was personally bad, all the way around. Ended up only hunting 10 days, down from 48 in 2010. Hunted half a day of archery bear season, and missed the rest of bear all together.

What time I did have hunting I spent hunting a specific deer, I actually passed on 2 legal whitetail bucks. I've never done that before, and hopefully I will never do that again. There was a buck shredding 8-10" trees nightly around my stand area. Every morning daylight would expose him giving me the middle finger by shredding another tree in the area. Never caught a glimpse of him.

My season ended early, and I never had a chance to hunt him in the peak of the rut. Such is life. I'll fill the freezer by the end of the month but that will be in 2012's year in review.

Long winded, but that's my first post here...

The pic with the rub is sideways, and I have no idea why that is happening.

That sounds like a great time. I'm not sure I'd sleep well at Lizard lakes with steak on my breath either.:D I do miss the fishing up there.
