I just laugh when I read that crap... Like the article in Outdoor life buy the greatest elk hunter in the world Jim Zumbo...
Personally I hope they keep running that crap, that will keep some of the unwilling and scared home with their wives where they belong anyway.
The "loss" of hunting opportunity along the migration coridors is a moot point if you ask me. The hunts are used to try and controll the OVER population of elk... Not just sound population practices like the regular season. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if they just did away with the late hunts all together anyway. 11 weeks isn't enough time to kill an elk???
I think the wolves are having an impact on the heards in and around the park, difficult to say just how big of an impact, but the heards elsewhere are exploding out of control. The area around Gardiner has reduced the late cow tags by about half... So what they still give out 1400+ tags. The F&G still thinks there is way to many elk like 1400
