You can still have a fun hunt in NE. May help to set some reasonable expectations for what you'll be seeing, and have creative tactics, but it's doable. I've hunted whitetails in treeless open country public land that was overlooked by nearly everyone else, and found trophy bucks. It can be a needle in a haystack, but all you need is one animal to make it happen.

The years i hunted it the fort robinson area held alot of deer as well as the public areas near it
