Wife and I just returned home from Northern California after a few days of steelhead fishing for the first time. Did better than I hoped putting a handful of great fish in the net and had many more on the hook. Biggest 35” and 15#. Fishing about 20 miles upstream from the ocean so the fish were still very silver as they’d likely only been in the river a matter of days. All of the fish we caught were wild so we were unable to keep any. Fortunately got a couple from another angler that caught some hatchery fish. Tasted fantastic
