North AK Caribou Hunt Dates

Planning a caribou hunt for 2026. Have an airboat transporter booked. This will be a diy float trip, transporter is taking us up either the Ivashak or Echooka River depending on flows then we will float back down towards the Dalton Hwy. A couple friends have used this transporter for a drop camp hunt in the same area and had a really good experience. We chose the float option to be able to see more country.

Wondering what others thoughts are on dates, right now we are leaning towards the later half of August assuming it will be cooler, less bugs, and more caribou moving. Anyone done this trip before?
