While they are not constituents, well heeled non residents who can easily afford guided hunts, will be able to with certainty, hunt Montana every year.

I fully suspect there is some greasing of the skids from that demographic.
Good point. I guess I just lumped them in with the outfitters. They certainly have a lot to gain!

You didn't answer the question. You have what is called "greed". Oh and btw, using your reasoning, don't leave MT because the roads in Idaho, WY, and the Dakotas belong to those states citizens, not you.

Sorry, but this is a red herring argument

I suggest you read Martin v. Waddell, Greer v. Connecticut, and Illinois Central Railroad Co. v. State of Illinois. It will explain why the laws regarding rights to transient objects, such as wildlife, are held in trust for the citizens of the state (not for all US Citizens), as compared to real property rights that are well defined as individual assets of the property owner.

Big distinction in the legal rights of highways and wildlife. Some may not like it, but the USSC has held that to be the case many times.

Now back to the point for which this thread was started. If you want to talk about ownership/trusteeship of wildlife, start a different thread.

If this bill passes would it go into effect for the upcoming hunting season?

Just as much rights to them as you when they are living on the nation's property.
Actually you dont. See Randy's post on the subject.
To be honest it the sense of entitlement by yourself and others that makes me want to support this bill against my better judgement.

I would say the "entitlement" shown by MOGA would be enough to not support this bill. I think we are all in agreement that something for the management of these resources needs to be done, and this bill does absolutely nothing to move in that direction.

As mentioned by several others if MOGA true believes in the management of the wildlife; than sitting down at the table with others who use the same resource and want to see it flourish would've gone along way.

I wouldn't mind if I wasn't able to draw a tag for elk in MT except for every 3-4yrs if every NR regardless of who they hunted with or how much $ they had was on the same playing field.

And it’s attitudes like yours that sometimes make me think you’ll get what you deserve when Montana is overflowing with newcomers.

Like Randy said I will focus on the main reason why this thread is here. You can hold the accusation of entitlement for another thread.

I apologize for coming off that way. I believe a huge majority are very grateful to be able hunt a state like Montana. I would hope to see all DYI hunters stick together and push this down in this state and every state that thinks this is a reasonable option for hunters and wildlife.

You must not be paying attention because that's already happend.
I made a trip from Billings to Bozeman the other day and the numbers of out of state plates from liberal hell holes was astounding.

Paying plenty of attention. Enjoy it while you're supporting the commercialization of hunting and subsidizing a single industry at the expense of others, all to spite NR hunters.
