No elk just a bear!

Went for elk, this bear showed up, elk didn't...so the stalk was on. Saw him at a bit over 700 yards, cut it to 100, probably could have gotten closer had I had my bow. One shot and he made it 20 yards.
That was on Saturday, then tried again on Sunday, was able to get a young man from Church a doe, since the elk did not show again. New spot next weekend. Was a good weekend anyways.

There was a creek bottom he was working up with aspens and willows in it, but we would have had to take pics into the sun...wouldn't have worked well...and no, no bear decoy!

I'd take a beautiful colored bear like that any day over an average elk. Very nice!
