Congrats on the new addition! I think 45-70 is a great cartridge. I have had a Marlin SBL for several years now and haven't taken anything with it. I really need to get it out this fall and scare some deer. It is so much fun to shoot

I’ve always wanted one of those, unfortunately my state has a max case length of 1.8” for deer hunting. Jealous....
