Yea D10 I nver been out there but I've talk to a couple of people and they gave me some spot to focused so I'm hoping it will be good

Do you know what zone you are going to hunt? You can get two tags in CA. If you want choices that are closer to you I would try an A zone tag.

I'd look into some other species (upland birds, waterfowl, small game, etc.) as well. Some of my best learning experiences about deer were incidental while hunting other species.
