Looks interesting to me, been looking at the 7PRC caliber for a while, but also just debating staying with 7RM as that has been what I shoot for a long time. The chassis for hunting is interesting, but the weight is pretty high. Like that the barrel is factory threaded.

Thoughts?

Kind of sits in no mans land for any purpose built rifle for me. Heavy for hunting or even NRL factory class competition use, light for optimal target use. I think it fits in a similar spot to the Ruger Precision rifle that sold a bunch when it was introduced for people wanting a factory chassis "precision" rifle at a price point for casual shooting but not really great for competition or hunting. I think the tikka UPR is a better crossover hunting rifle than this.

That said, i like most design considerations on the chassis. Good butt pad adjustability, grip adjustment, and use basically the same fore end config that the most popular gamer chassis are using these days. It's just kind of a tweener rifle that doesn't intrigue me.

Should have offered it in a 6mm chambering.

Interesting, but a pound heavy. Any thoughts on the best light weight chasis system to add to Tikkas we already have?

XLR Element and MDT HNT26 are the two most popular for weight conscious folks but they cost most of the price of this entire tikka and involve compromises IMO.

KRG has the new echo budget hunting chassis thats more like a stock for $300 and sub 3#.

Anyone know if tikka will ever make a shorter t3x with a threaded barrel? A simple 20” factory threaded barrel would be great.
Sounds like everything is going to be threaded q2 and forward this year, lite and superlite models included. I thought I heard some will be shorter barrels too but don’t quote me on that. Part of why you see a lot of existing stock being discounted.

I'll wait until they come out with a more tactical model. :ROFLMAO:

There is a Roughtech Superlite out now. Looks like the Roughtech stock with a 20in for short action, fluted Superlite barrel. I want to see one before I pull the trigger on it. Those Superlite’s are my favorite Tikka. I always wanted a fluted barrel on a SS CTR as they are about a pound too heavy for my liking.
