Well, hush my mouff! Opened back up on Friday morning.Santa Fe National Forest is still closed. Because of the controlled burn misadventures on the east side of the Forest, I will be surprised to see it open again until July, or later. We are now in the second week of soaking rain, with another solid week predicted.
An automated weather station recorded a whopping 2.46 inches of rain along Highway 105 in Gascon within the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon burn scar. That's A LOT of rain. Widespread flooding has been reported this afternoon. Stay safe. #nmwx
