New to this forum. I live in western WA and enjoy hunting whatever I can get a tag for, though I am still working on notching my first elk tag. Hunting Washington, Idaho for deer, and Montana for deer and an upland trip this year.

I do. I haven't put a ton of effort into hunting for a mature buck yet though. I really should put more effort into them.

It’s definitely not the casual stroll through the woods I thought it would be when I started. I’ve been chasing them for 2 seasons now, but still haven’t seen a buck during legal shooting light. Hoping this is the year!

Last year was the first year I haven't filled my tag. I should have, but I made a bone head mistake and forgot to dial my scope back down from a previous setup and shot high on a pretty nice buck. I have taken a couple decent bucks but most of the time I end up being a meat hunter.

I'm doing more scouting this summer for elk, bear, and deer so maybe I can find a good one in October.
