Netflix roman empire.

So I just finished up this series today. It is Hollywooded up for obvious reasons but is fairly accurate historically wise.
I must say I'm relatively knowledgeable on this kind of history, but this series made me realize the Roman's were a bunch of sick and demented mother you know what's.
Makes me feel a little better about this wacky world we live in now. I emphasize "little" and "wacky".

Yea history will keep you grounded. Listen to a couple of Dan Carlin’s hardcore history podcasts and you will get a big dose of what humans are capable of.

King of kings is also solid.

Great recommendations in this thread. Highly highly recommend Carlin's podcast (and paying to listen to the old ones), and the show Vikings. I will check out Roman Empire.
