Does anybody have a loading book references for the 280AI using a 120 grain lead core bullet with either IMR 4831 or IMR 4064.

I found data for the 280 Remington using these powders with the 120 grain bullet but none for the 280AI

Times being what they are, these are the only powders I have to work with.

Thank you

Thank you.

I did find this too. But no refrence for IMR 4064 or IMR 4831

Thank you,

I tried opening it. First time it said page not available, then it did open but there were limited calibers, without 280AI
You have to select "rifle" tab or you're looking at pistol only. 280 AI is there under rifle calibers, I checked for you

In Hodgdons yearly.
120gr Ballistic tip. 24" barrel.

IMR 4064,
47.8gr @ 3046fps, 54,200psi.
50.9gr @ 3180fps, 60,400psi.

IMR4831
56.4gr @ 2967fps, 48,900psi
60.0gr @ 3223fps, 60,100psi.

I think i get it, you select caliber on the left and the data comes up. Is that right? This seems like just what I wanted
Yep this data is from Hodgdon the 280ai and 120. Their website sometimes defaults on pistol so that is why you may not have seen it before. Hodgdon data seems to match up with velocities I see when I load. Sometimes I can get a little over max but variations sometimes allows for it.

Cool thank you, I wiil begin working up some loads tonight. I do an active fast walking shooting course on NF land, in the winter on snowshoes.

I took off my deer/elk hunting variable Leopold scope and put a fixed 6 x on my 280AI for my "target shooting season"

Lots of fun, great excercise, wonderful practice.

So hard getting reloading components now so I have to use what I have.

With the Ukraine war I wonder if we will ever have easy access to shooting components.
