This is true! and part of the problem is "illegal`s" destroying "riparian areas" but shhh be quiet we can`t talk about that,also there is alot of pollution where the gila flowes thru the phx. area.[ddt and other pestasides, heavy metals etc.] I have traveled from the source of the gila,san francisco river [gila n.m.] down to the "gila box" near Clifton AZ. and the river is in great shape until it hit`s the "mining" district. It might take hundreds of years to repair.
