MR Metcalf 2019 model. I have a 38” waist and it fits me- sorry can’t remember what size MR calls that.

It is in very good shape. Some slight blood stains on the bottom of the bag. No tears or rips. I added that orange mesh by slipping it over the buckles, so it can be taken off.

I added the buckle upgrade kit and one custom buckle to allow the pack to come off more efficiently.

Two small holes in the top bag from a porch I had mounted in there

$325 TYD lower 48.

Can you get the sharpie name off the bag? I have to ask, and I’m sure ol @DougStickney and friends will fill me in, but what separates these packs from the rest? What makes these $400+ packs (new) better or more efficient/comfortable/value worthy? Is there a shelf that you can attach for packing quarters?

I wear blue jeans when I hunt and pack meat with an old WWII pack frame I bought at a pawn shop, not much help here.

I had the same question you did after using a big Kelty pack for 20+ years of backpacking- no hunting. I finally took the plunge and bought a used EXO pack which is heavier than my old Kelty.

Hunting pack frames are just so well built and carry heavy weight against your body much better. I haven't hauled meat yet but did have a heavy pack while backpacking with my son this summer. The difference for a middle-aged guy like myself is definitely worth paying for a used pack.

You have two options with the name on the pack: 1) use a sharpie and black over it, or 2) leave it that way and if you lose it I’ll get the call and return it to you!😂😂

Yes it has a meat shelf. Bag separates from the frame. That feature is unique to hunting or hauling style packs.
