My two grandsons successful

Wow that is just awesome!! Had my 12 year old son shooting his bow this eve but he is still a year out hunting with it. That is really impressive. Congrats to all!

Congrats to both of them. I’m sure the deer and elk are in trouble.
Did they draw any tags or just general this year for deer/elk?

Looks like they used a crossbow. Montana needs to get with the program and allow them during archery season. What a great way to get youth involved in hunting and for older adults who can no longer pull a compound. Not really any huge advantage over these new hot rod bows that guys are wounding animals with because for some reason they think archery is a long distance sport.
I agree. While both these boys shoot compounds, they are barely to 40# pulls. Forty yards is about the closest shot these bucks were giving and they wanted to try hunting them out of the blind. In Wyoming we can hunt archery and then rifle. These two won't be hunting rifle which keeps hunter density down in that season. I love the season structure in Wyoming AND the fact that crossbows can be used in archery. They have zero effect on overall season harvest.

By the way, my son-in-law joined the fun with his compound.118104221_2583826011879309_2445116046284171993_n.jpg

Awesome start to the season, hope it continues!

Did you guide the crew or just go along for the enjoyment of watching them?

Nice animals.

After a week away from Hunt Talk, this is a great thread to open up. Fist bumps to the young archers.

This is so great! How cool for grandpa to experience as well!? Those boys have a bright future 👍 Congrats to all!!
