Yes that is right, there is no pictures....
Man a brutal hunt it was. The first morning was great, i had a couple hours of action, passed a 20 yard shot on a 4x5, and later that afternoon saw the biggest bull I ever seen in MT. Then the next day the skies cleared, the mercury rose..... damn it got HOT OUT!! I was in low country, and it was actually close to 90 today at noon. I cant complain, I knew I was coming out a week earlier than I liked the the wife had something going on next weekend so I had to be home, besides, this is trip 3 of 5 this year so I cannot complain. Saw some great country as usual, Killed another Lope with the bow on the 3rd day while trying to beat the heat (pictures to come) and got a lot of rest
Yes that is right, this is probably the first elk hunt that I gained a few pounds, but when your hunt it reduced to maybe an hour in the AM and an hour in the PM that leaves a lot of time to lounge and snack on all the goodies you bought at the store that you can not fly home with. Next week the hunting is going to turn on! temps are going to drop and the rut will go full swing in MT. I had a little action the last couple days but always ran out of time with the stalk with the short hunt times because of the heat, but they will go nuts when the temps drop.
