MSU Bobcats National Championship

It was a great game. We’re Bison fans but I expected Montana State to win this one. The NDSU coach mentioned after the game the Missouri Valley Conference & I think playing in it every week makes a difference. Montana State is an impressive team. Especially their quarterback.

Tough loss but sure was a fun season. Tommy is an incredible qb and even better example of a student athlete. Will be missed for sure. Also watch out for olineman Marcus Wehr. Should be seeing him on Sundays. Great kid as well.

Though the Hail Mary would’ve been an incredibly low probability play, that was a weird way for the cats to end it with no returner to stop the clock.

Great season though. Tough loss. Tommy will be irreplaceable.
I think the best way to end it would've been let Taco catch it and run. He makes things happen.

Crazy that NDSU had like 5 false starts. Cat crowd sounded awesome.

Play calling the first half doomed us. The 2nd half was the Cats way of football.

Who names their kid Taco?

Nobody, Taco Dowler as a young kid standing in the kitchen (maybe eating Mexicano food) jokingly announced his name is Taco. Obviously it stuck!
Don't disparage his name or his athleticism, as he was an outstanding athlete in high school sports in Billings. Taco's amazing punt returns for TDs, plus his almost miraculous catches as a receiver of Touchdown Tommy's passes, mark him as a football player who has earned respect and has been loudly cheered in affection as the Bobcat Nation crowd again responds to the announcement of yet another TACO football feat.

You stadium bench warriors in the peanut gallery just keep eating your burritos, green with the envy at being even close to the athlete known as TACO!

Left the bar at half time because it didn’t look good and the bar was 45 mins from home on an icey road.

Looks like things almost turned around.

I am sure Taco is a fine athlete, and I was rooting for him and his team in the few minutes I watched near the end of the game. I am just glad that his parents aren’t Mr. and Mrs. Bell.

Now, back to my burrito chili so I can dwell on lost opportunities at being a high school or college athlete. It was just my luck that neither my high school nor my college had a curling team.

11 on 10 to block the punt was your highest probability of success. But obviously, not high enough.

NDSU has been very interested in moving to the FBS level of college football in recent years but no offers to join a conference. This year they lobbied hard to be admitted to the Mountain West when Boise State left, but the invite went to North Illinois. Not sure if Montana State has any such plans? If you watched the, “Mayo Bowl”, which Minnesota played in, it’s hard to understand why a school would rather play in that game rather than a national championship game like last night in Frisco. More money I suppose. The bottom line is, who gets in which conference boils down to the number of TV sets in a school’s geographic area. As evidenced by the Big 10, originally a Midwest conference, now has teams on each coast.
