Does anybody else watch this show. My kids and I enjoy it although I always knew some scenarios were staged/scripted. But I saw something on last weeks episode that kind of surprised me. I always assumed the hunts were legit. But notice one of the companies recognized in the credits. And I can't tell that there is a percussion cap on his rifle.

I watch it, and like the different types of characters on the show.

Agreed. Tom orr seems like a very genuine person and always has a smile on his face and is very soft spoken.

Marty meierotto is the real deal. He was trapping in the deep wilderness long before the show. I remember reading a magazine article several years back about a week with Marty on his trap line in winter. The writer said several times he literally didn't think he would get home alive.

The others western guys are watachable. But ol useless from back east, I can't watch him and fast forward when he is on.

^^^This...plus I am always a sucker for backcountry scenery....

That sheep hunt Marty was on I believe last year when he landed his plane on that mountain top, yikes and to top it off he kills his sheep.

I love watching Marty. I'm not a huge fan of Eustace, although I like the way he builds stuff. It reminds me of how my grandpa and family done things on the farm. Heck grandpa didn't buy a tractor til in the early 80s. He always used his mules and plow. Of course, he didn't farm more than about 10 acres of tobacco, but I hear the horror stories of how it was to do it like this from my dad. Tom Orr is cool too. He reminds me of my dad. My dad has been a taxidermist for about 50 years now, so every time Tom works on the hides and such, it draws my interest. I like Rich and his dogs too.

Watch it religiously. Mainly for the scenery, but also for some of the things the guys do. Tom is a cool guy and I would love to have a sit-down chat with him one day. Rich always runs critters (lions and wolves) off and never seems to kill any even when a lion came BACK. Seems like once in a while a problem lion would need to be shot. Dunno. Eustace is funny. His pal Preston acts like he's been dropped on his head a few times! I do like that truck, though. Not sure what to think of the new guy Kyle. Always watch this, Yukon Men although it's getting boring now, and Life Below Zero when it was on. Alaska the Last Frontier is OK, but kind of hokey sometimes. It always seems like they will starve to death if they don't get one more fish or something. Guess I'm too bored and need to watch other folks on TV do what I would LIKE to do.

There would not be a percussion cap on it because it is a trapdoor Springfield 45/70. Nice sporter version.

I watch it and like Tom and Marty, but the houndsman annoys me always trying to yell mountain lions and wolves out of the territory.

Forgot, as far as the animal outfit goes, I would assume they are for the close-up shots of the critters they show. Hard for the production crew to find those.

That is the biggest crock of a show that I have seen. The stupidity level is incredible. I guess city folks really think everything is on the verge of disaster with that camera crew there and there is no way out. Tom Orr is OK for some things, but his phobia for bears is ludicrous. Marty would starve to death at current fur prices if he was indeed trapping for a living. Eustus, well, is just Useless. And then for the wannabe lion hunter who thinks he can just chase the lions out of the country and not kill them-no comment necessary.

I would rather watch the Weather Channel!

Rich Lewis has some good dogs, but probably doesn't draw a lion tag every year. I bet he shoots every bobcat with the fur price being so high. It's a tv show, what the heck do you expect.

I love it! It is TV... Marty only source of income is not trapping. That's what he does in the winter. The more these shows are on, the better for our sport. The vast majority of the voters in this country know nothing about the outdoors. Any show that high lights the outdoors is great for sportsman. You just have to accept it for what it is, TV. If they didn't add drama nobody would watch accept sportsman.
