More Presidential discussion on public lands

I was watching the tape until they called it and they showed the counties. Cruz took the southern part of the state from Boise and Idaho Falls south.

I imagine that some of it may have to do with the LDS nostalgia for Mittens Romney.

Cruz won in Idaho with the message "I'll give Idahoans back their land"
I'm surrounded by IDIOTS!

I don't believe there is any amount of certainty. What makes you feel so strongly that it's in the bag this morning?

He won decisively in Miss and Mich. And currently leading in polls in FL and OH, which are key states to already go along with trumps current lead . But I guess anything is still possible

What gets me is that a Democrat will most likely win Colorado due to Denver and Boulder and the more populated areas and having a Democrat for Governor. Most of the state votes Republican, but the populated concentrations vote Democrat, thus goes the state. That's how Hickenlooper got re-elected in a close race.

I'd also wager weed has something to do with it....:hump:

That would describe many states. Oregon is beholden to how Portland Votes, Washington is going to follow how Seattle-Tacoma vote. Isn't your Representative Republic interesting?

What everyone is not talking about is how any Republican, including the Donald, reaches 270 in the electoral college.

If the Democrat nominee picks up just Florida, NV and Wisconsin they they are at 270. The path for a Republican is much more difficult.

Yep. Our presidential election isn't about who can win the popular vote. It is about who can win FL, OH, and PA really. And the republicans probably need to win VA and NC.

Interesting map Nemont. What is the source? Some of the groups that have been really accurate in predicting past election results seem to be saying the same thing. Alot can happen in 8 months though too.

For a cartography class in school we discussed these Red/Blue voter maps. They are deceiving and though they make sense for the electoral system, to display the feelings of actual people they can really be misleading and ultimately divisive. A majority makes a state one color or another. But in reality, even in the states that lean heavily to one side of the isle or the other, if votes were represented by points that were red or blue, and each point were a census tract, or even better, individuals - the whole country would be purple.

Now let us all engage in the first verse of Kumbaya......:)

That's true to an extent, but Hickenlooper had a fair amount of support outside of Boulder and the Denver metro area.

I see Florida as a three horse race and being winner take all it ain't over untell the Democratic party leader sings.

I'm not so sure Hillary has MI nailed down, which is evident after Sanders surprising win yesterday. Both parties voted anti-establishment. MI has lost a lot of jobs and the appeal of a Trump and Sanders carries weight. I wouldn't lock up MI for the Ds if it comes down to Hillary vs. Trump.

Thankfully, when I cast my vote for the Democratic candidate in November I can sleep soundly knowing that they will not sell our public lands right from under my feet. What I do worry/wonder about are those who traditionally vote republican, but are fierce supporters of our public land. Everyone has there own beliefs and reasons for who they vote for, and if public lands are a cold dead hands issue, then this election might be difficult for you, maybe not. As bat chit crazy as trump is at least he has come out against the sale of public lands. like Randy stated above, Cruz is bought and paid for, a wolf in wheels clothing. And every time I see or hear his smug face speak I want to punch the TV. That guy is as slimey as it gets. This election has so much riding on it.

I am a republican and if Cruz were the nominee I would have to vote for the Democrat. Even if Trump were the candidate, I don't trust his position on public lands. Half of the positions he has staked out so far this campaign he has quietly changed his position on. And he is beholden to no one. He can write all the blank checks he wants and we won't know which are cashed until the day after inauguration.

If it's Hillary against Trump, it will depend on how many of the minority voters she can get to the polls on the east side of the state that love all the Lib entitlement programs. In our MI primary yesterday we could vote for one party or the other. I knew the Donald would easily carry MI on the Rep. side, so I went over to the other side like a lot of people and voted for the Socialist just to try and whip her sorry butt and it worked. She was ahead by 25 points last week and he beat her last night. What really needs to happen is for the Department of Justice to indict her on this email scandal. First when it came out she said she didn't use that server for anything but personal stuff. When that was proved false she went to the: "I didn't knowingly do anything wrong" excuse/defense. Yesterday as they dug into more of them it comes out that they found she actually wrote a bunch of them herself that were sent out on that server and not just ones that were passed along. I wonder what her next lie/alibi will be in the next few days on that one. The witch should be behind bars in Leavenworth for the rest of her natural life and they could toss Slick Willy in there with her as a real penalty to him and all his transgressions!

Amen to that. What really confuses me is how Cruz won all the East Idaho counties when while he was in Boise he said he'd eliminate the DOE which would in turn shut down the INL, one of the few places where high paying jobs are had in this part of the state. We're so stupid we won't even vote for our own selfish interests.

I can't imagine that R's voting as D's for The Bern closed a gap that big in just a few days. Some polls had her higher than 30% just a couple of days ago. To be honest, I don't want Hillary indicted. The DNC will not allow The Bern to run. They'll most likely put in Warren or Biden, in which case Trump would lose. I'll take Hillary. Heck, even Dems don't trust her.

Aurora has more sway than Denver, check that population breakdown...
