Montana Whitetail Live Hunt

Even I could follow that story! Good job! Hard to tell, but they look like Easton Gamegetters? Just put my quiver with 6 of them in it in my truck for tomorrow morning. Think I'm down to about 3 or 4 spares.

Maybe I need to start a new thread, but my safety harness is as outdated as my arrows. I still use the belt around the tree and belt around my waist. I have also fallen and its not fun.

I have been reading a bit about different harness systems. I see a lot of guys using a rock climbing harness, they look simple to use and not near as pricey as some 4 point harnesses. Some of the 4 points look like a pain to put on and off and if its not simple I can see me not using it.

Any feed back?

Not sure you should worry about safety and price, be safe!

Nice buck, makes me wish I had a whitey tag this year.

Please get a new safety belt......

nice pithy story with great pictures.
I don't use stands, so I can't help with harnesses.

Get any full body harness but also look into incorporating a foot stirrup to support yourself in the even you have to hang there for any amount of time. Reason being the circulation in your legs becomes cut off. The other thing I like is a rope with a prussic knot, very helpful in many ways

First off, congrats on a very nice buck! I have a Hunter Safety System harness. While the straps can be a bit tangly (technical term ;) ), it really is easy to put on. Not any more difficult than donning a vest and clicking two seatbelt buckles. The fall release strap (stirrup) as mentioned above makes a very handy deer drag as well. I won't go into a treestand without a harness any more. Now I just need to spring for some Lifelines so I can stay connected while climbing to a from the stand.

IMO, the investment and hassle far outweighs eating through a belly tube and/or having to have someone else wipe my hindend...

I have a 4pt harness, I think it is an AmeriStep and it is tangled all the time, hard to sort out where the leg holes and shoulder holes are. Pretty much a mess of webbing. I like the looks of the ropes and Lifelines from HSS.

Thinking maybe a climbing harness like this.
