Take heart young nimrods. Having been applying for moose since 1994 in Montana and before that in Idaho, I drew a tag. I was flabbergasted to see "successful" near my name. Had FWP made a mistake? Moose-take? Moose steak? Need to get a bigger freezer.

I don't feel so bad now. I've been applying for moose and sheep since 1985 with no luck. I get to focus on deer and elk with no other distractions, makes life less complicated.

Some folks use special tags as an excuse to buy new rifles. I am already planning how to buy a better camera to document the hunts.

Looks like the first rifle I ever bought, a used Browning .270 is going to get taken into the woods a lot more this fall than it did in the past.
