MONTANA FISH, WILDLIFE AND PARKS COMMISSION TO MEET JAN. 18 IN HELENA
Montana's Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet in Helena Jan. 18 at the FWP headquarters, 1420 East 6th Ave., beginning at 9 a.m.
The FWP Commission will take final action on a fee increase for non-tribal members who hunt and fish under the State Tribal Agreement on the Flathead Reservation. The increase was recommended by the Flathead Reservation Fish & Wildlife Board to support resource management.
The commission will be asked to endorse moving ahead with plans for a new Fishing Access Site along the Clark Fork River near Paradise and on the Yellowstone River at Glendive. In addition, commissioners will consider a land exchange that would involve about 360 acres near Sula and Department of Natural Resources and Conservation lands in the Bitterroot Wildlife Management Area, and discuss the FWP budget and legislative priorities.
At 11 a.m. Jim Kropp, FWP Chief of Law Enforcement, will make an informational presentation on recent large-scale poaching operations.
