Sounds like fawn recruitment is down because of drought. I am seeing that in our country as well. Hope they adjust permits accordingly.

They will and it’ll like mean increased tag numbers . They want a good harvest so there’s not starvation problems this winter the arcticle said

Shocked they finally admitted southeast mule deer numbers aren’t “rosy”. I suspect they will still issue 8.5k or more Antelope tags for region 7. They have told me they aren’t in to knee jerk reactions.

My new SIL is just getting back into hunting. My influence I guess. He has to draw as a NR. If he pulls a tag, I don't care if I do or not. Focus will be his hunt. mtmuley

Probably. They only issued 5500 this year instead of 11,000 so I guess that’s a plus.

Give them time. They start spending time in the hay stacks this year early and fwp will start knocking them back again

The drought in eastern Montana is the worst I’ve ever seen. Some of the worst stuff hasn’t even been grazed. So hold the comments about bitching about ranchers this fall.
