Montana 2025 Legislative Session

SB235, the landowner preference reform bill is up tomorrow in house Fish, Wildlife And Parks.

An amendment to HB5 that would have stripped $18 million away from Habitat Montana was defeated this morning 11-12. Reps Albus & Walsh and all Dems voted against it. Montana Trout Unlimited, Montana Wildlife Federation & MCS worked together to get the amendment defeated.

I believe SB 307, Reallocate pot tax money, is on 2nd reading tomorrow. Glad to see Hb 5 amendment defeated.

Yes it is.

I don't have a good vote count on it, but it's going to be close. Hit up the senators this evening if you haven't already!

(406) 444-4800 is an easy way to leave a message for your senator. It's old school, so you may have to try it in the morning since it's after 5, or text them via their numbers listed on the website.

Alright gang, SB307 will be back up Monday in Senate Finance and Claims. 9am.
These are the committee members who are most needing to hear from us. Be cordial and let them know how important it is that the Habitat Montana, State Parks, Trails and Non Game accounts remain fully funded!

Senator Fuller, SD 4, Kalispell (406)-253-4897
Senator McGilveray, SD 26, Billings, (406)-698-4428
Senator Mandeville, SD 28, Columbus, (406)-690-1933
Senator Regier, SD 5, Kalispell, (406)-587-8608
Senator Vance, SD 34, Belgrade, (406)-587-8608

Send these people messages. If we have to have hippies - we should at least use them to support wildlife :)

An opinion on 270.

Didnt know the LT gov was a Galt.
Not much substance to this one. Basically no facts about the bill at all. This guy doesnā€™t like Galtā€¦got it.

Is the Missoula current gonna actually run an article that isnā€™t about a person this session? I mean that is a word salad about galt and actually doesnā€™t have any information on 270 in it

It wont matter to a lot of people here apparently, but here's another article about the problems with it. I cant decide if its hilarious or pathetic that the senator who brought this wasnt at all prompted to do so by problems in his district.

Fuller, Regier, and Glimm will toe the party line no matter what.

Before redistricting, Glimm was my rep and he never once returned a phone call, email or text.

I even once texted him to thank him and never got a response.

Well, when your motherā€™s a Galt and your dad was a famous proponent of sale of public lands, that says something. Right now, though, Iā€™m drafting a thank you email for her genuinely excellent testimony on HB 676.

On 270, my last read was that it had been amended to the point where thereā€™s no discernible point to itā€”except for the huge ā€œexceptā€ clause starting on line 18 in the last amended version.
