I thought some of you western folks may find this interesting. Here in Missouri we have the share the harvest program. This is a program that hunters can donate any extra venison and it will go to local food banks and pantries.
New for this year they have added "Deer donated to Share the Harvest that were harvested in the seven Missouri counties where chronic wasting disease (CWD) has been found will be tested for the deer disease. Deer that test positive for CWD will not be used and will be properly disposed of. "
