We floated about 50 miles and did it over 6 days. The majority of the trip was outside of the refuge. We would float a ways and camp/hunt around and then float further if we didn't see much. I was kind of disappointed in how few deer we did see. I shot my buck over a ridge. It wasn't far from the river as the crow flies. But hiking up and down those nearly vertical hill sides with a deer in your pack was nothing but easy. Very rewarding. If you guys want any more details let me know. I'm not going to advertise exactly where we hunted, but other than that I would be happy to help!
