Yes there are consequences from the President and Zinke's assault on our National Monuments.

The DJT administration and the Interior Department choose to give mining rights to a CANADIAN company rather than protecting OUR Public Lands.

I can still vividly recall the Zinke water carriers saying, oh the roll back of our National Monuments is not that bad - lots of land out there!

And the shock, the shock of Patagonia trolling the President with: " The President Stole Your Land" banner page on their website.

Those lands are OUR lands and if anyone is going to get mining rights they should be US companies not Canadian. So much for MAGA.

The theft, pillaging and plundering of OUR Public Lands is the goal of this administration and the lackey of the Extraction Industries, Ryan Zinke. Heck, some of the nuts in this crew think it is divine providence to exploit natural lands and resources. Think Hatch, Lee and Pence. That is the same thinking that drives the Bundy bunch to make their outrageous claims about OUR Public Lands.

As Del McCoury says:

It's a money disease
It's a thing called greed
And it feeds on those
Who need it the most
In moneyland

And now to the article from the Hill:

Mining set to begin in land Trump removed from national monument
BY ARIS FOLLEY - 06/21/18 04:21 PM

A Canadian company is looking to begin mining in land that was previously protected as part of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah.

President Clinton established the monument in 1996, but in December President Trump cut the 1.87 million-acre site nearly in half, removing many of the federal protections.

Glacier Lake Resources Inc., a copper and silver mining firm based in Vancouver, announced its acquisition of the Colt Mesa deposit last week in a press release, saying that the area “recently became open for staking and exploration after a 21 year period moratorium.”
The president and CEO of Glacier Lake Resources, Saf Dhillon, told NPR News on Thursday the project was "a welcome addition to the company's ever growing portfolio."

“The target is a high value, underground scenario with modest disturbance,” Dhillon said.

Nada Culver, counsel and senior director for agency policy of the Wilderness Society, claimed in a statement to NPR that mining remains prohibited in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, arguing that the president does not have the power to reduce the size of the state’s national monuments.

Culver added that “any mining claims are invalid, just like President Trump's attempt to dismantle the monument, which we are already challenging in court. This company's actions, and any others that try to mine within monument boundaries, will be scrutinized. We are monitoring this situation and will not stand by and watch mining companies rush to leave irreplaceable scars and damage the natural values of these lands.”

“For those who doubt the intended beneficiaries of the attack on our national monuments, we now have some more evidence of the real reason the administration is trying to sacrifice our public lands,” Culver said.

NPR says Culver, along with Native American tribes, scientists, and other conservationists, are filing lawsuits against the administration, arguing that only Congress has that power.

Cheers,

Mark

Mr. Biden, by contrast, has a more pro-environmental stance, and has made it clear he is looking to gradually transition away from oil to renewable energy. While he has been reported to have assured miners he also supports improving the domestic supply chain for lithium, copper, rare earths, nickel and other strategic materials that are imported from China, more significantly, should he win, he plans to spend $2tn on electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and other green projects. This will have a very positive impact on commodities used in EVs such as lithium, copper, nickel and cobalt, as well as those important for solar panels and renewable energy infrastructure. His plan to “build our economy back better” will also support rail infrastructure investment which would drive steel consumption.

This what he will put in order and in move this year. No worries the country is rich with precious supplies. Everything will be fine and money will be gathered and used in our country for us.
And he wants your guns and your money to give to people who don't want to work go figure
