With Michigan's December hunt more than half over, this is info has a pretty small audience, but some of the On-X elk unit layer boundaries are way off.
I'm sure there is some fine print stating they aren't liable for errors, but these are super hard to draw tags.
I'm not talking feet or yards, but over 3+ miles. For OIL tag holders (bull tags), you would think they could manage to correctly identify boundaries for just two zones (the area outside the core elk zone is open to either tag).
The MI DNR was informed and said they would try and get it corrected with On-X, but this is a highly regulated hunt, and I'm sure we weren't the first to bring it up.
My buddy did finally punch his cow tag on day three, but nobody needs that stress in their life!
