Duck-Slayer, this is the first I’ve heard of freezing venison in water. Similar to fish I assume? Water in a ziplock bag? Hmmm, im intrigued!

That's a great point if your city water taste like chlorine I wouldn't take my soaking method with water. For others soaking in Milk is scientifically proven to take away the "fishy taste" out of your fish. I don't waste milk though. I was raised on well water.I fish/spear mostly saltwater fish. I and many others don't let any tap water touch the meat before packaging or after. Too many additives in our water system and why wash away all that good flavor.
