I've really enjoyed looking at the woodworking thread! I searched to see if we had done metal or not, didn't find anything. Post your work!

I'll start with a trout sculpture I did a few years ago as a commission piece. I haven't had time to do much artsy metal work since.

This is 20ga steel sheet, hand formed, with 2 stage urethane candy paint.

I know a little bit. This is my yard art. The smoker is the 1st I did. Reverse flow. I've got a bunch of various tables and carts around too. I did a big trailer smoker for a guy once. He was going to use it in competition. Never gave me an update on how he did with it.

Great projects!

I love seeing all the creativity. I love welding and have been in at it for about 20 years from boat docks to trailers and skull hangers in all 50 states along with many countries. One of my favorites was the hand rail at the post office in Chadron, so almost everyone in town had touched my work, lol. Even welded in a Wal Mart once and regular teach people to weld.

All because I watched Monster Garage back in the day. lol.

I can only do a few of these at a time. The repetition sucks the soul from me.

I would like to do a couple in copper.

Copper would be awesome! I made a handful out of 1018cr and did a mild patina. The amount of time involved was a total buzzkill though, probably wouldn't do it again tbh

I'm not a talented as the OP, I'm more of a hobby welder guy. I've built gates, fences, trailers, stoves, all the usual things... One of the funner ones were these 11' wide French doors I made for our back room. 2x6x.250 structural tubing, 3/4" tempered ballistic glass. Milling for the mortise locks and astragal bolt housings were the most difficult part. Unit was built as one piece and slid into the RO completed..After fabrication, everything was filled with expansion foam .70257.jpeg70262.jpeg

I built this 2x72 belt grinder when I realized a comparable one was $2k.

Those turned out really nice.

That's on my long list of tools I need to build.
