I've really enjoyed looking at the woodworking thread! I searched to see if we had done metal or not, didn't find anything. Post your work!

I'll start with a trout sculpture I did a few years ago as a commission piece. I haven't had time to do much artsy metal work since.

This is 20ga steel sheet, hand formed, with 2 stage urethane candy paint.

miller 252, l'm the holdout in the shop, everyone else are using lincoln pulse machines.

I'm using 252 myself, probably my favorite Mig...did you use trimix or regular 75/25?

308l wire 90/10 gas

The Lincolns are nice, I still prefer blue.
My TIG is a Primeweld, it's been a great machine so far.

I'm going to try 90/10. The trimix is too expensive for hobby welding.

I can't find the progress photos for this one..

Car came came in to get "freshened up." Found tons of body filler, stripped it all down. Straightened out the waves in the hood, patched both of the fenders, fixed a long crease in the quarter panel, reworked the fenders to fit the headlight trim, and I can't remember what else.
I did all the bodywork and assembly, another guy did the paint/ polish.

I wish I still had all the pictures from the body shop. Did a lot of cool stuff there.

The name sucks but seriously. You could be doing fish, guns, and obviously whatever else you want to with metal.

This is the best I can do… my art is trees. Had a bolt snap on the new chipper today and jimmy’d it to work for the day. Then got to welding on a new bolt after getting the kids to bed. 10pm start but would rather spend time with my kids while they are awake.

Wish I still had the 68 with a modern suspension, tires, and wheels. I’d bring it to Nevada Paul.

That was back when I had time for doing such frivolous things. And it's a perfect match to the stud on the forend cap posted above.

What does the order of operations look like on those 316 stainless pieces?

That is kinda stuff my dad was always doing as I grew up. I got to see farm fixes and ingenuity every week. He truly was a master repair man before there was a YouTube to show you how.

He had a whole room of his house dedicated to repair manuals that had greasy finger prints on them. I miss those days.

I have cabinets full of greasy fingered manuals! I thought it was normal? I have a lot of digital manuals also. I always print the sections I need so I can take them to whatever I'm working on. My claim to fame is I can fix anything that doesn't have a computer or fly.

He started using the printing version when computers and printers became more available. You two would of enjoyed swapping stories.
