Before going to Christmas dinner tonight at my daughter's in-laws I dug out the sweaters bag and picked a heavy white fisherman's knit pattern that I haven't worn in more than a decade. Sitting down to eat I noticed a big brown blob on the top of my right cuff.

Me: "Oh for ... I never noticed THAT when I put this on tonight. I feel like a slob."
FIL as he pours my wine: "What?"
Me: "This. Looks like an old gravy stain."
FIL: "Ah, the ghost of Christmas past!"
