To join or donate to a cause I believe most hunters encounter in one fashion or another:

Dave N:

"Ensure the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage."

40th Anniversary - The story of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation

A few families from Troy, Montana scraping together last $'s to begin what is now the premier elk conservation organization! This video is amazing! It shows the roots and how those families made what it is now!

Holding strong in 1st Place: @Dave N with 42 points and 182 still available to claim! And to note, holding 1st Place (158, 182, 186), in tight competition for the entire Jabber's commissioner formed, March Madness Bracket of 439 entries!

@INMT in 2nd Place with 40 points and 156 available to claim! His 40 points bodes well though Madness has exposed an ever slight chink in his armor with 156 points remaining!

Along with @Oak who entered into 3rd Place with 38 points and 182 available to claim! Still holds spare gas with 182 points remaining though Madness has a fickle way to evaporate points before our very eyes!

Dave N promoted / placed his conservation organization spotlight onto the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation! An official sponsor of Hunt Talk and Fresh Tracks!
Did you know, simply by joining RMEF you have membership benefits to gain Randy Newberg's FRESH TRACKS+ subscription for FREE? Yep! That is the commitment Newberg and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation share with our members for the purpose to promote access and wildlife preservation/conservation! This is a simply snip of the discounts RMEF membership provides from various companies who share the same passion for countless wildlife species, by the direct action supporting the conservation of our elk via land corridors/access, habitat support, and legislative advocacy!

INMT took the liberty to promote two fantastic organizations when he entered the Hunt Talk conservation event: His first was promoted above, PLWA!
His other? Montana Wildlife federation! One of the premier conservation organizations supported by the collective lead of the National Wildlife Federation! A powerhouse organization for the reason we are here, as members of Hunt Talk!

"Montana Wildlife Federation advocates to protect and enhance Wildlife, Habitat, and Outdoor Access."

Oak personally donated prizes for this event and promoted an organization he passionately invests countless hours towards the success of our bighorn sheep! The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society has been instrumental in the conservation and preservation of bighorn sheep throughout native population areas with valued support from many Hunt Talk members as members! The great raffles each of us Hunt Talk members thirst to support along with annual memberships, donations, and boots on the ground have contributed towards numerous bighorn sheep endeavors for their continued conservation and notably, their preservation.

A direct example of RMBS membership donations and raffle collections at work and countless volunteered hours:

~SPOTLIGHT ORGANIZATION~

@Elky Welky donated prizes for this Hunt Talk Conservation Event on behalf of the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers! A continuous leading voice for our wild public lands, waters, and wildlife! BHA has been instrumental toward the success of our wildlife and our public access! Most notably, BHA's direct support for our four Missouri hunters has led to the following - an amazing precedent set and hopeful to see this expand further across America for access to our public lands!

A GREAT opportunity to renew or join in this organization as the BHA North American Rendezvous is around the corner with a current fantastic promotion for your renewal or new member entry!

"Backcountry Hunters & Anglers seeks to ensure North America's outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing in a natural setting, through education and work on behalf of wild public lands, waters, and wildlife."

The first day conclusion of March Madness Sweet 16:

@Oak First Place 66/174
@kansasdad Second Place 64/172
@INMT Third Place 64/152

Oak placed his spotlight and personally donated a membership and sweet swag for the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society! See above post (#88) for active details involved in the use of memberships, donations, and raffle funds for the conservation and preservation of bighorn sheep throughout the Rocky Mountains.
RMBS members receive a subscription to the quarterly magazine
The Bighorn, immediate alerts to important information regarding wild sheep issues, and a voice in choosing the RMBS Board of Directors.

Kansasdad placed his spotlight on
Pass It On! Outdoor Mentors Organization! "Our Mission: To empower young people through outdoor experiences & mentorship. By using outdoor experiences as a platform to mentor young people of diverse backgrounds we are making a generational impact through the outdoors and passing on our outdoor heritage."

The heart of families embracing the future of wildlife for generations to come, there is a special place for these threads on Hunt Talk. Kansas has taken this to another level and embraced these valuable opportunities through support for our youth with outdoor experiences via mentored guidance.
One recent short video that captures this activity:

INMT donated towards and promoted two organizations for this event, Public Lands and Water Access and Montana Wildlife Federation. As he's held a position in the top ranks, both organizations have been promoted within post #87 for PLWA and #88 for MWF.
Two fantastic operations for the future of our wildlife and access!
MWF:
"Protecting wildlife, habitat, and public access in Montana for eight decades."

PLWA:
"The mission of PLWA is to maintain, restore, and perpetuate public access to the boundaries of all Montana’s public lands and waters."

~SPOTLIGHT ORGANIZATION~

@Wild Bill , @Cap’n Crunch , @Gulf of America , @Addicting and an anonymous contributor in support of the personnel behind the scenes for the upcoming public release of the North American Pronghorn Foundation. A prize donation has been made for one FREE membership and a select item(s) of swag to compliment in agreement by @brocksw and a contributor!
Be part of this groundbreaking event!

I try to post a few of our great organizations when I place current leaders. Tomorrow am, I'll place the spotlight organizations. The goal is to ensure all organizations are presented for the efforts in support of one of the main reasons why we are on Hunt Talk.
The preservation of wildlife via conservation efforts of hunting, trapping, and the money generated by our support of said efforts.

A quick update:
@Oak has moved into First Place
@Devil Diver Down has made a dramatic entry into Second Place
@Dave N is holding onto Third Place.

This has been a really thrilling twist and turn of Madness!

A flip from yesterday! The madness continues! Oak stepped off the main standing page and @Forkyfinder rolled right in with the current lead 95 of 175! I'm wondering if I happened to miss your name the past round or if your team selections slung your points per game onto the main page. Florida with 95/175 total points is riding high!

It's a tight battle between Forkyfinder, @Devil Diver Down , and @Dave N with today's games still on the trophy mantle to twist the madness further! Each with premium 80 points, respectively, between the three and each with differing Champions listed! @Hunting Wife , @INMT , and @Oak hoping a miss in one team over the leaders place the crosshairs back into the top three - A bit of miracle work though hey, it's madness!

As it stands:
First Place: Forkyfinder
Second and Third Place: Tied between Dave N and Devil Diver Down!

Arkansas and Colorado sure put up a great fight for the Cinderella's to continue though downed by a mere hoop!

@Sytes did you just say im in first?

I havent watched a game of BB all year hahahaha
YUP! You hopped onto the big league page! Your armchair skills in Sweet 16 placed you currently in first place. That said, March Madness can slam dunk hopes quicker than gorilla glue sticks!

March Madness example:
Hunting wife is nipping at the prize circle with Tennessee and an Auburn loss - That places her back in the money and you... Major Tom to ground control story! Madness~! Though if your teams hold true - You're holding First Place!

Anyone catch your name missed - please post up and I'll adjust as soon as possible. - 30 teams within 439 total. I believe post #91 is correct.

~Spotlight for Conservation~

@Forkyfinder 's slide into First Place showcases Backcountry Hunters & Anglers along with @Elky Welky , @ashersdad , and @mitchamafied donations and continuous support for the BHA!

A brief history regarding the creation of the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, as one of the leading voices for our wild public lands, water and wildlife.

"The campfire flared and popped, the undulating light casting crisp shadows across the seven faces gathered around it. The faces were somber yet resolute. There had been a lot of talk about loss, habitat destruction on favorite mountains, pollution of beloved waters. But a high note was rising through it all.

On that March evening of 2004 in the southern Cascade foothills outside Eagle Point, Oregon, seven visionaries saw a lot of problems with the management of our wild places and public lands. But they also conceived a means to address these problems. Onto this auspicious stage, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers was born.

Mike Beagle, on whose property they were gathered, Dick Hentze, Tim Lillebo, James Montieth, Tony Heckard, Michelle Halle and Brian Maguire set out to create a grassroots organization focused not on protecting one specific species, river or hunting area but on ecosystem-wide conservation across the continent. They wanted to create a voice for North America's public lands and waters.

Years later, many thousands of faces are gathered around that campfire, around that idea. The backcountry voice can be heard from the lonely tundra of Alaska to the raucous chambers of Congress in Washington, D.C. Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is now, more than ever, advancing positive change for North America's hunting and fishing heritage."

With the BHA Rendezvous around the corner, now is a great time to join with added incentives and prizes to boot!

@Devil Diver Down is tied with Dave N for Second Place! Devil Diver Down showcases the Arizona Elk Society!

Arizona Elk Society's Mission:
"The mission of the Arizona Elk Society is to benefit elk and other wildlife by generating resources for habitat conservation and restoration, and to preserve our hunting heritage for present and future generations."

AES's background:

"Far beyond a game-centric organization, AES operates holistically to address wildlife conservation—from providing boots-on-the-ground restoration work to delivering educational programming to our future wildlife stewards.

As a supporter of AES, you are making a transformational impact on Arizona’s wildlife, habitat, youth, and veterans. Our focus is Arizona; no funds are passed on to national organizations. The tireless efforts of organizations like AES helped restore Arizona’s elk population from 0 to nearly 50,000 strong since their reintroduction to Arizona in 1913.

Your support of AES is used to address our four focus areas:

Habitat Restoration | Youth Programs | Water for Arizona's Wildlife | Heroes Rising Outdoors"

Special AES membership discounts from their large array of well respected sponsors and with joining more than 1,400 members with a passion for Arizona habitat and conservation for elk and other wildlife that benefit from AES activity - here is your organization to join and support!

@Dave N is tied with Devil Diver Down for Second Place Dave N showcases the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation along with @MR. ELITE RUNNER , @HappyCamper , @Sawtooth , and @Jamen donation and continuous support for the RMEF:

As a main organization that sponsor's Fresh Tracks and Hunt Talk, RMEF has been at the helm supporting our elk and other wildlife via habitat and conservation. As Dave's been on the leading page, we've shared some past information about RMEF. This post, let's showcase the true spirit of volunteerism! I've had the opportunity to join our Flathead, MT area as a volunteer during a banquet and the immense satisfaction is lifetime memorable! I'll step off my soapbox and leave it for RMEF to share a taste of volunteerism with the RMEF:

Interested in joining the RMEF? Take a look at the main website. Explore the many activities the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation involves itself based on our financial and boots on the ground support.

@HONEYBADGER shared support for the Wild Sheep Foundation!

MISSION of the wild sheep Foundation

WE ENHANCE WILD SHEEP POPULATIONS, PROMOTE SCIENTIFIC WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT, EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND YOUTH ON SUSTAINABLE USE AND THE CONSERVATION BENEFITS OF HUNTING WHILE PROMOTING THE INTERESTS OF THE HUNTER.

"In over 47 years, the Wild Sheep Foundation has raised and directed more than $145 million “To Put and Keep Wild Sheep on the Mountain®” – with more than $75 million raised and directed to agencies from special permits and tags alone. This funding has been used to support wild sheep transplants, telemetry studies, research, habitat enhancements (e.g., prescribed burning, water development, noxious weed control), disease surveillance and response strategies, predator management, education and a host of related programs. Trap and transplants conducted west-wide initially brought bighorn sheep from Alberta and British Columbia to western states resulting in a modern day wildlife success story. Since 1922, more than 22,000 wild sheep have been transplanted in nearly 1,500 discrete operations, in 15 states and two provinces. Rocky Mountain, California and desert sheep numbering ~25,000 in the 1950s have been expanded more than three-fold, with current estimates or 85,000-90,000 today. Dall’s and Stone’s sheep in the North are currently estimated near 100,000.

This conservation success is a credit to the more than 11,000 WSF members worldwide. Combined with WSF Chapter and Affiliate members, our dedicated members contribute thousands of hours volunteering for wild sheep conservation projects, as well as generously donating critically-needed funding, to help bring back wild sheep from the brink…but there is still much work to be done. Please join us in support of wild sheep!
"

A passion for our wild sheep! A dedication for the conservation / preservation of our sheep! Take a look around the website via the link above! Amazing success with the support of membership and boots on the ground volunteerism! I'll tell ya, doing these various Auctions and events - the value gained learning of fantastic organizations is a moving experience. Learning and reading about the Wild Sheep Foundation stirs my desire to support their cause! Interested?

@Sawtooth shared support for the Idaho Wildlife Federation!

"Founded in 1936, the Idaho Wildlife Federation is Idaho’s oldest and largest statewide conservation organization promoting the conservation of Idaho’s wildlife heritage and legacy of sporting opportunities. IWF quickly became the state’s leading voice and influence to curtail decline and rebound game and wildlife populations. Two years after our founding, IWF successfully campaigned for the passage of the Citizen’s Initiative of 1938, establishing an independent commission to guide wildlife management by the North American Model. Through the shared goals of our affiliate clubs, we sought out to restore habitat and wildlife through ecological restoration, education, and policy change."

"As a statewide, nonpartisan group founded by sportsmen and women, the Idaho Wildlife Federation seeks creative and proactive solutions to solve complex natural resource issues that impact fish and wildlife, their habitats, and our hunting and fishing opportunities. Our efforts advance “made in Idaho” solutions to the modern challenges of wildlife management. We believe wildlife and sporting opportunities can thrive while maintaining local economies and working agricultural landscapes. We advocate effectively for sound policy, vehemently defend public lands in public hands, and work with public officials to achieve our goals. We bring a sportsman voice to the planning table."

"The Idaho Wildlife Federation is a grassroots, member-driven conservation organization that has represented Idahoans since 1936. As the state’s oldest wildlife advocacy group, we have been a trusted voice for hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts across the state.

Memberships fuel our work, allowing us to advocate on your behalf for healthy, intact wild spaces, thriving fish and wildlife populations, and initiatives that ensure outdoor access and opportunities for everyone. Together, we champion science-based conservation solutions that deliver ecologically and culturally sustainable outcomes, conserving Idaho’s natural resources and outdoor heritage for generations to come."
Interested joining a proactive, nonpartisan, and heavily immersed in continuous legislative activity - view the website linked above and route yourself over to the membership page. A great means to support Idaho wildlife conservation as a Resident and Non Resident who values what the great State of Idaho provides:

A sample of IWF's continuous legislative updates - almost a weekly video to keep you up to date!

Saw this... looked at my bracket, cause i didnt even remember who i picked... 😅

Ironic that i put the least time into this than ever... Not sure if the NIL has simply seperated haves from have nots in terms of talent - but 4 (1) seeds making it is weird id think.

Touching base on the FREE FOR ALL event that everyone (Hunt Talk members), including all entrants into the Conservation event: Here is the following top contenders.

1743442833001.png

Jabber and I have discussed the method to identify the winner and initially figured best to validate the email though I believe below will suffice and be much more transparent for all to know who the WINNER of the 439 entries into Hunt Talk's most participated event!
The plan is to post something such as this, upon conclusion of the games.
Each person on this list, as shown above will post a snip of the following:

If I happened to be so lucky to be on the standing list at my whopping 283rd place...

1743442933758.png

That, matching with our list, those who post within FIVE DAYS of the announcement, the First Place winner will be the highest ranked person, using Yahoo tie-breaker rules, if necessary, who submitted a snip of their "My Bracket" to confirm they are the owner of the bracket. This may not be the actual first place person as a "Public Bracket" leaves us open to outside Hunt Talk members who happen across our Bracket competition. Again, of those who post their, "My Bracket", the highest scored person will be announced the winner.

Above is the current list! EPIC 117 of 181 points, thus far for whomever, "Nick Payton" is! Hopefully you show up and post your confirmation if you remain in top contention.
