Lost my mentor and hero

My dad has battled colon cancer. Last year I got him to go another season with me even though he traded his bow for trekking poles. I'll take it! We had the best hunting experience I've ever had and that didn't even mean I filled my tag. I cherish the moments we get to spend together in or outside the woods. This year I'm trying to squeeze another archery hunt out of him in Montana in some rolling area just so I can get more time and memories with him again.

I'm sorry for your loss. But, rejoice in your memories!

Sorry to hear about your father. I lost my dad in 2012 and it's extremely hard. Those memories are so important and for your children as well. Talk about Grandpa to them often.

I certainly appreciate everybody's kind words. I knew that I could lean on my hunting brotherhood for support. I'm headed back down home (1100 miles) this Saturday for a week. A week that was planned to be Dad, Brother and I turkey hunting. Sadly, it will be spent with my brother, sister and I making difficult hurtful decisions. Thank you for your support.
