Lost Cows

I get home from a great day at work yesterday( I know, but it happens..A great work day ) To find that my cow got out of the neighbor's pasture My first thought was that some crack head out here stole them Off I go looking..I find out who has them,, there will be an ars kicking, and I let the people who live around here know it,,yes Hunterman is pissed!!!

Well come to find out( after a closer look at the neighbors fence, that he guaranteed would keep my animals in) the cows broke through his fence..Just one strand of barbed wire was down...This assbite didn't even anchore the wire to the fence post now I'm even more pissed!! AND HE WANTED TO SHOW ME HOW TO BUILD A FENCE !!!!

I have Lady Nutcracker call the County Sheriff, to report that I had some cows on the loose...This make me feel like some twit that don't deserve to have animals, who can't keep them in a fenced area...With the help of about 20 people or so the search really started..I didn't need a cow hit by a car and kill someone....

Well about 9:30 last night we found the cows about 3 miles away, in another cow pasture with other Black angus cows and a Bull ( the owner said one of his neighbor called to tell him a couple of his cows got out)...With a couple of phone calls, he found out who's cows they were We'll pick them up today around 3:30 and bring them home...

I did learn a valuable lesson...Check the fence line YOURSELF before you let your stock graze in someone else's pasture...I think I'll have to teach my duffus neighbor how to build a fence to keep stock in......

I am really glad you got your cows back Tony, there are all sorts of things that can happen to them, and also to have them that far away already...
I woke up one morning in Monroe Washington where I used to live, looked out of the back window and there was a little angus eating my back yard.
I put a sign up at the end of my drive and that eve had the owner picking up his cow.
Two day's later it was back, when I contacted the neighbor again, he said his lazy kids didn't want to feed it, so they just would let it loose...
Man, that would have been some thing really bad to have a black cow, hit on a road that has trees covering it. They get mighty dark in Washington becasue of that....
I figured if he let it out one more time, in my freezer it would go....

Glad you got your cow back Tony. Do you have to have a brand inspection done in Washington? If so, next time call the brand inspector also. Two weeks ago they caught a horse thief and all 6 horses were identified by the brand inspector. Then the idiot said, " I guess you want the horse trailers too?"

Well Bill,, I just found out that I can get my brand reg. Its going to be the (W)..I was thinking of going with the,,,(REALS) For Rebecca,Erin,Anthony,lindsey,and Shannon farm,,,but I didn't want to Bar-B-Q the poor cows....LOL
