Sorry Wllm, We didn't do that. Them cabinets and blinds were around when us old Boomers were just babies and in all my Boomer years I aint never seen a cake icing turner built into a countertop like that before.

Tom,

Here's the deal if you apologize for the various home travesties that your generation has inflicted on us, we will bring back the brand name logos slapped on the tailgates.

Also HOAs why did you do that? why Tom, do you hate America? Do you prefer the communist collective? Did you see a perfect idyllic American heartland community and think it's great but let's add some Stalin to it...

Sad... killing this country...

Yes Mr. Mellencamp agrees with me… what a shame what you did to the country… ain’t that America…
You are not from the scene of suburban mown lawns, old men with transistor radios in hand, backyard Webers and woody station wagons, my friend?

Me neither. My mother had a Campbell Soup can electric can opener. Both my grandma and mom had metallic copper Jetcone GM Frigidaire washing machines built circa 1959. My grandma had a copper Hotpoint electric range oven and matching electric stove top built into custom wooden cabinets. That built-in mechanical timer never worked as usual so grandma and mom kept an old-fashioned Mirro minute-minder timer in the kitchen. All metal timer that never failed. All you Boomers certainly remember grandma's noisy all-metal electric can opener with a good-design round cutter and a magnet to pick the lid up. This was the ideal dinner bell for the dogs and the cats.

Neil Young - Keep on Rocking in the Free world

Bruce Springsteen- Born in the USA

John Mellencamp - Ain’t that American

If you actually listen to them they are lamentations rather than Anthems… which is very ironic given their usage.

What is demoralizing to me is watching boomers lamenting the passage of time as if their snapshot of human experience is the axis that society revolves around and living with the dread that that could be me someday.

If that ever is who I become will someone please use an AMERICAN Colt revolver with clear, crisp engraving on the barrel to put a forty grain (English unit of measurement
via Latin etymology) .22 caliber bullet into my brain to spare the rest of humanity from my insufferable complaints?

If such actions are ever necessitated by my crotchitude I would want to be memorialized by @wllm publishing a spreadsheet that plots the comparative complaints of myself vs the boomer generation and an annual pouring out of a cold Rainer upon glacier lilies in remembrance of the man I once was by the participants of that season’s Hunttalk bear hunt.

Changing the previously established western culture and way of life for global commercialism isn’t new. Hide hunters eradicated a large majority of the buffalo on the western landscape for financial gain.

I’m just taking the piss ;)

If you are ever bored go to Zillow filter houses over 1MM and then set the sqft to like 6,000. You basically get the trashiest custom homes of all time.

My generation built American cars that said MERCURY, OLDSMOBILE, PONTIAC and PLYMOUTH on the bodies with chrome letters.
All those American brands are now obsolete. Millenials must think these names sound corny. It's a wonder MERCURY outboards are
still in production.

I am glad that laminate hardwood-looking floors were invented, however.
You don’t really think it was millennials sitting behind the desks making the decision to outsource to and later cease production of the 4 automobile brands you mentioned do you? I’m gonna give you a hint. Most of that was done people born between 1946 and 1964 who were of the age and tenure to be in upper management by the time those decisions were made. Besides that how bad do you really want a Plymouth, Olds, Mercury, or Pontiac? Everyone including American manufacturing has a few things they can let go of, I don’t see these 4 as a big loss.

F- all of you profiling boomers as all the same.
I have zero in common with TT.

But alas, I'm too tired from fulfilling my boomer work ethic after framing today to give every one last of you a 🤣.
Carry on.

Back in my day we pounded in full 3” sixteen penny nails by hand with a 20 ounce hickory handle American steel hammer. Didn’t use those wimpy 12d nails from a newfangled pneumatic nailer. 😄

Is it gonna be a sad beige house? God millennial style is going to age so poorly… but mom why white on white on white with gray floors.

Who hurt you?
