My daughter has been accepted to a college in TN. Her and the wife made a visit last week and my daughter loves it.

We've already made the deposit. I'll be making the drive back with the family this fall to see her off to college then a little family vacation.

I'll have to make a few trips back over the next 4 years to visit and hunt some whitetail.

I'm a very proud father.

Beautiful state Zach...always wanted to do some bike touring there, whaddya think?

Bigtime congrats on a proud patriarchal milestone.

Congrats Zach! If its in the eastern part of the state the trout fishing is really good. Have heard good things about the hunting there but haven't sampled it myself.

Ken, I think that sounds like a possibility. Just need some preplanning.

What part of TN ? It's a pretty wide state and the topo changes drastically.

The college is about 45 min NE of Chattanooga. I'll get a better feel for the landscape this fall.

That's going to be on the west side of the Smokies. You're getting into some steep, thick eastern mountains.

Whitetail populations are not all that dense, except in some isolated areas. A fair chance at black bear, and maybe a boar. Turkey should be pretty good. Deer densities generally increase as you get more mid-state.

On a very serious note, be on constant alert for any stills, &/or pot fields, even on public land. Those boys shoot 1st and don't ask questions.
