Looking for a golden retriever puppy - billings, mt

Looking to get my kids a new puppy for Christmas. They are pretty set on a retriever, where as I would rather have another lab.

Anyone got any leads in the billings area? Just looking for the kids a new best friend, but hunting skills would be a plus. I have spent some time online looking at the local breeders with websites, but their prices ($1200+) seems pretty steep to me.

Defiantly willing to travel for the right dog. I would like to know the owners have a good reputation, but I don't need all the paper work etc. just a good ol' family dog

Trieven was one I really like when I was shopping for the superior retriever, but they have both and hopefully your kids wise up before Christmas. ;-)

We got ours from Ponderay Goldens out of Douglas, Wyoming. I believe the sire was from Trieven. She's only a little over six months old, but we're happy with her so far.
