A week ago I received a call from a sheep hunter that was in complete frustration about sheep hunting. His six week season was about up, and a friend of friend of a friend sent him my way.

I accepted his invitation to accompany him, and show him a few likely spots where I've seen rams in the past. He'd be happy with any legal ram.

The plan was to back pack deep to the heart of the unit, and hunt Friday and Saturday.

Friday was whiteout blizzard, followed by sun and 40 mph winds. Didn't see much.

Saturday was calm, and the sheep were out.

Saturday afternoon found us perched above two bomber rams at 384 yards.

Mike introduced the ram to Roy Weatherby, twice.

Heavy packs and big smiles got us back to town by mid-day Sunday.
