Has anybody made liver jerky? I see online where people are boiling there liver before dehydrating it, does anyone have a method that they use?
Thanks

I don’t mind liver occasionally, but even the thought of the texture of liver jerky has be thinking of all the other things that can be made into jerky.

I make it for my dog (liver that comes with beef). Gotta tell you, not horrible, but I wouldn't eat it besides taking a taste test. All I do is slice it up and dry it out in the oven for 2 hours or so. There is a fine line between it being almost dried out and still a bit sticky, and it being cardboard.

So I made the liver jerky today I coated both sides in sea salt and pepper, let that sit overnight and then dehydrated them for about 8 hours at 165. To be honest it tastes like fried liver. So if you like liver I recommend giving it a shot worst case you have a high quality and free dog treats.
