Lion Sneaking Up to my Camera

I put a trail camera at an intersection of some heavily used coues deer trails and got this. I did not use any bait. I believe the camera had a small light or noise that attracted the lion. Location: Southern Arizona

are they still bad? I know they were bad when I left years ago....

Still pretty bad since they changed the ability to use hounds back in the 90s. Current population ests are 6-8,000 cats and the annual take averages only about 260. I think hunter succeeds as a percentage of tag sales runs less than 2%
