Lord willing, I will be going moose hunting in 2019. Just wondering if people could post up pictures of their moose mounts. Looking to see what different options there are out there and try to picture what might be the best mount if I should be so blessed as to actually get one!

I am a simple man with simple needs. Have had issues with bugs on some older shoulder mounts in a home I rarely visit so euro is my preference these days.

I like this approach if a shoulder moose mount:

I did not have the wall space available at the time for a full shoulder mount. My wife didn't care for the look of the European mounts and I was on the fence about it myself. I decided to just skull cap it, wrap it in leather (I have since dyed the leather a very dark brown), and make a custom background for it. I was going to use barn board but decided to make it out of birch bark instead. I'm not the handiest person, but was very pleased with how it came out.

Idaho 2014. Proof that even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

2012 Montana Moose.

Up until I shot this I never thought I would get a shoulder mount and was certain that if I shot a moose I would just do a bleached skull. My dad offered to pay for it as a housewarming gift and I took him up on it.

Hunting Husband’s moose. They had to split the skull to get it on the plane so it was a little bit of a challenge. He and a friend built the back and figured out how to get it all put back together. We don’t have anywhere near enough wall space for a shoulder mount.

Damn small homes with 8' ceilings - I settle for moose pics.
Why I don't apply for moose, also why I've passed on numerous 380 bulls........:D

Keep in mind guys if you hunt moose always do this cape it for a shoulder mount andNeverhave the skull cut unless for air travel. That way you can euro the skull and have the cape tanned a save it. If anything your taxidermist will probably buy it for$500+.

Thx. The 202 nontypical is from Colorado. The moose, 184 archery deer, and the other deer are all from Idaho. The smallest deer is actually my most memorable... sometimes it's not the score that counts. :)

There are some great mounts there. Love the pedestal mounts with built-in habitat.
