Well I'm not where I wanted to be - I got 3+ weeks to get as close as I can but we will make it.
Delta Sheep 2023 is right around the corner. It could be interesting with the recent cooler weather we have had this last week following a hot and smokey couple of weeks.
Re thinking some weight items, number of cartridges, if my tarp is big enough for 2 (Caribou Gear Hunter Tarp) and my water situation.
I'm excited to get out there and see what happens. Hopefully finally get my first Sheep!

Current Gear List - still tweaking. I'd like to upgrade my Sleeping Pad and Sleeping Bag but just bought the new Spotter and think that tapped me out.... unless anybody wants to make me a killer deal. ;)

Nice list.
My pack two weeks back, was just under 51lbs. Including 2L water & 1L Bourbon. Food was 12.5Lbs, in the pack. Planed a 10 day hunt. Rifle excluded from pack weight.
Each year less is needed, when packing. As far as first aid goes, game bags and duct tape, which I wrap a foot or so around my trekking poles if needed. Mrs Bearfoot gives me some heavy pain pills, just in case. Never needed.

Good luck. Get the bear tag just in case but don’t waste a second chasing bears. Did I miss your boots?
Many of us are envious as you set off on the adventure, best of luck and don’t leave any rock unturned.

boots are Crispi Briksdals!
I've got insoles coming because I don't like the ones they come with.

Im going to pack my bag and weigh it this week.

Lunches I am planning on bringing Protein bars, 2-3 varieites per day. And a mix of Fritos and Trailmix.
I will have a couple cans of Grinds Coffee/Caffeine pouches
Sunflower seeds.
Breakfast will be oatmeal and precooked bacon with coffee.
Dinner random assortment of repackaged Mountain House in HD Freezer Bags.

12 days to go - I am down over 30 pounds from February.
SHould have spent more time hiking this summer but too late now.
Rifle Dialed in to 350 yards.
Take the Puppy out for some Waterfowling on Friday.
Moose hunt this weekend - taking all my backup gear so I don't destroy anything with a week to go.
Food I will repackage this weekend and get everything lined up.
I am trying to talk myself into/out of a few final purchases because money isn't going to help me at this point. HAHA.

Time to make some final cuts to save weight and give up some of those little creature comforts.
Keep shooting the rifle and look at as many pictures of sheep as possible.

A few more prayers to the Lord for safety and success and then keep giving my buddy grief. LETS GO!!!

Do you find those grinds coffee patches replace an actual cup of coffee? I enjoy sitting down on a glassing knob and making a cup of coffee and sipping on it but if I didn’t have to carry the stove and cup and extra water it might be easier.

no - but it does help keep me awake. I like to take sunflower seeds too but have to be careful with those as they will eventually tear up my mouth and it is something different. That caffeine helps as well.
Correct, we don't have to hike all the way in - we are getting dropped off.

They used to do that to me, too, until I started doing smaller handfuls. Just a few (5-10) at a time. Usually doesn't tear up my mouth that way.

Best of luck to ya!!

I'm also switching to Spitz and mixing 50/50 Salt and Pepper. I think the David's salt gets me too.

46lbs without food and water weight, ouch. Good luck on your hunt!
thats what I'm saying ... but I'm not sure what to cut out. If my buddy and I were sharing a tent like I wanted then it would be better but still 40/40+ pounds.

Looks good to me. At some point you just have to go for it. Including a rifle and spotter that's not half bad. I'm usually around 55 all up for 10 days. Good luck! We headed out Monday for a Chugach ram.
Hope you are having good weather!
We leave in a week for our trip.

after Football and work I'll be packing up and getting ready all week. I got a couple more items coming in and I need to find a trekking pole so I don't have to buy a new set. But other then that and maybe dehydrating some Pineapple I think I'm pretty set!

Sounds like you’re dialed, good job and good luck! I’m rooting for you to shoot a 40 inch ram!
