Late Kaibab - 11 years old

I can’t believe it but it looks like my 11 year old will be hunting either 12A West or 12B West during the late season. How about a big old muley buck with a swollen neck for a first big game animal?!

I have the slightest hope and that I drew the late hunt first choice. Unless point creep took me out of the bonus it’s muzzleloader on the east side.

Excellent... My card was also hit today. Guess will have to wait & see if I drew a resident late Kaibab or late Coues rifle permit. The pending amount was a little puzzling at $45.00. Do I dare hope for a hard to draw sheep or buffalo permit? Probably not.... although one never knows.

$45 is a resident deer tag. Good luck to you

Right? Last year we hunted a desert unit and it was normal grind it out low density desert hunting. After this year he may never want to go back to the cactus forest!

We are anxiously awaiting draw results to see if it’s 12BW or 12AW. If the other son drew the Kaibab youth hunt to go with his bison tag. If that’s the case it will make 3 trips to the ‘bab this year.

It will be awesome to watch the Plateau change over the seasons.

Late 12AW. He didn’t harvest a buck last year so this will be quite the opportunity for his first deer.

It was up and down but definitely ended on a high note. I am grateful for those 6 uninterrupted days with my two sons. It’s something that most Father’s will never get to experience. Hunting truly is the greatest family tradition.
