I’m not sure where you are going with this.
Just suffice it to say that RMEF could’ve and should’ve handled it differently. Hindsight is 20:20 and I believe they have adopted a different approach. There isn’t a single wildlife organization that gets it right every time. RMEF has done some good work and that shouldn’t be overlooked.
I was pretty upset by their perceived lack of support and silence with a lot of the wolf issues. Trust me, it’s water under the bridge and you are beating a dead horse that has been buried long ago.
Unless your motive is to discredit the RMEF, you should try a different approach to whatever it is you’re trying to discuss.

I’d really only change things that I knew a fair amount about. I hesitate to say that our agriculture system is broken because it works so efficiently as it is setup. We produce corn and soybeans at insane amounts across the Midwest. There’s an amount of marginal land in production right now I’d say 10-20% of total ag land. That’s 15-30 million acres of land. So somehow diversifying that into a production that will allow elk expansion while also being at least or close to as profitable as being in crop production. I think expanding the elk herd east would relieve so much pressure on the west it would make a massive difference. If you could take 20-30% (I’m just throwing numbers out I have no idea of the actual impact) of NR hunters off the mountain and out of draw pools because they could hunt in their own back yards that would help.

We tried to re-introduce elk to the Shawnee NF in the nineties here. Guess who put a stop to it? Farm bureau. To say that ground is marginal for crops would be a compliment. Ground is absolute shit.
