About a month ago I bought then posted about a new Kimber pro Hunter chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. My plan for this rifle was to have a light weight mountain rifle that could aslo be shot by my 10 year old daughter. As the rifle sits now it's weight half of what my main hunting rifle (300rum) weighs. I started by adding a tactical / varmint style bolt knob that I purchased right from Kimber. The scope is a vortex viper hslr 4-16x44 mounted on a egw 20 moa rail and Weaver 6 hole 30mm rings. The muzzle break is original from the factory. I adjusted the trigger down to a very nice, no creep 2lbs. I also installed a seekins precision srs 2" rail on the stock. I was going to add a T-nut for the second hole in the rail, but I decided to abandon that plan. I didn't dare remove that much of the honey comb material in the stock. I didn't want to compromise the integrity of the stock. The hollow cells is one of the ways Kimber achieves their light weight gun. Luckily the spacing worked out to where the second hole wound up dead center of one of the cells. So I drilled it threaded it and then bed of the screw in epoxy. That should work, but for some unforeseen reason if it does not I can always go in and revamp it. I also added a Magpul bipod. It's fairly inexpensive, but it seemed to perform very well. I finally made it to the range yesterday and was the only one there. Probably didn't help that it was blowing and snowing. I decided just to pick up some factory Hornady eld-x to shoot the gun and get a feel for it. I didn't feel too bad about the group considering I wasn't shooting out of a vice and it was in a snowstorm using factory ammunition. My next step is to work up a load for a nosler accubond and see if we can close that group in a little bit. All in all I'm extremely pleased with the gun. It checks all the boxes that I was looking for. I can't believe how low the recoil is,!
